Yun Kong, PhD

Dr. Yun Kong is an expert in controlled environment agriculture. He has more than 25 years of work experience in this field across different countries, including Canada, China, USA, and Israel. He has accumulated solid knowledge and skills in crop cultivation inside varied controlled-environment systems such as indoor farms, greenhouses, high tunnels, and netting houses, as well as the relevant environmental adjustment technologies.

Jingjing Han, PhD

Dr. Han works as a greenhouse research engineer of Flowers Canada (Ontario) Inc. (FCO). She obtained her Ph.D. from the Chemical and Biological Engineering department of the University of Saskatchewan, SK, Canada. Her research was mostly focused on different dehumidification technologies evaluation and developing model to predict greenhouse indoor air relative humidity. She is still working on greenhouse indoor air quality control.

Yasmeen Hitti, Msc

Yasmeen Hitti is a Ph.D. candidate at McGill University in Bioresource Engineering and Mila Quebec AI Institute. Yasmeen has focused her studies in controlled environment agriculture for her Master’s and Ph.D. Her knowledge spans across several disciplines related to hydroponics such as sensor building, modeling, and substrate development. Her interests are at the intersection of plant physiology and robotics while studying plant electrophysiology

Ashutosh Kushwaha, Msc.

Ashutosh has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and a master’s degree in Bioresource Engineering. He worked as a breeder and an agricultural chemist in his masters and has experience in plant growth in a controlled environment. He also has experience in physicochemical analysis and method development of Plant, food and, pharmaceutical products. He is interested in sustainable practices and alternative sources of energy that have led to work on multiple projects related to the environment and biofuels.

Sophie Rufyikri, MSc.

Sophie obtained her undergraduate studies in Biology at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and a Master’s degree in Bioresource Engineering with a focus on the use of LEDs for horticulture and shelf life extension, studying the effects of various wavelengths on plant photosynthesis, stomata opening/transpiration & conductance as it pertains to plant production.
