Md Sazan Rahman, MSc., PhD.

Md Sazan Rahman is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Agriculture, Nutrition, and Food Systems at the University of New Hampshire, NH, USA. He completed his Ph.D. in Bioresource Engineering from McGill University, Canada, and his MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. During His MSc, he worked on the technological and environmental aspects of greenhouses. His Ph.D. focuses on “heating, cooling, humidification, and dehumidification control of porous concrete” to make it more compatible as a plant-growing substrate in developing green buildings and sustainable products for hydroponic/greenhouse growers. Now he is working on heat transfer, renewable energy, and sustainable technologies in Controlled Environment Agriculture.

Philip Wiredu Addo, MSc., PhD.

Philip Wiredu Addo is a Schulich Fellowship recipient and PhD graduate from the Department of Bioresource Engineering at McGill University, under the supervision of Prof. Mark Lefsrud. He is enrolled in the NSERC-funded Quality Assurance and Quality Control for Cannabis (QAQCC) research and training program. Philip’s doctoral research focuses on postharvest technologies for medicinal plants; cannabis and hops, optimal conditions for drying biomass and extraction of secondary metabolites that translate to cost savings and significant improvements in the medicinal plant production model. He balances his studies by working part-time as a Quality Assurance Specialist for EXKA Inc., ensuring compliance with the Government of Canada’s Cannabis Regulations, developing standard operating procedures, and acquiring relevant cannabis licenses.
