Common Questions

Got questions?

We've got

answers.

What types of farming operations does Crop Heaven work with?

We work with a wide range of indoor and controlled-environment agriculture operations — including hydroponic and aeroponic facilities, traditional and underground greenhouses, vertical farms, and cannabis production facilities (licensed and pre-licensing). Whether you’re planning a new build or optimising an existing operation, we can help.

How does a consultation engagement typically begin?

We start with a discovery call to understand your goals, operation size, budget, and key challenges. From there, we conduct a formal assessment — either on-site or remotely — and present a tailored consultation proposal covering the disciplines most relevant to your needs. There’s no one-size-fits-all package; every engagement is custom.

Can you help us achieve Health Canada GMP or GACP compliance?

Yes — this is one of our core specialisations. Our director Philip holds a QAQCC certification and has led multiple GMP and GACP compliance projects in Canada and internationally. We offer gap analysis, SOP development, staff training, pre-audit preparation, and external audit services for cannabis and medicinal plant producers.

Do you work with small-scale or start-up growers?

Absolutely. We believe great growing science shouldn’t be reserved for large commercial operations. We actively support small- and medium-scale agribusinesses with practical, cost-effective solutions that deliver measurable ROI. If you’re just starting out, we can help you avoid the expensive mistakes that derail most new indoor farms.

Can Crop Heaven help with LED lighting selection and design?

Yes. Our team includes researchers with specific expertise in LED light science — including how different wavelengths impact photosynthesis, transpiration, and crop quality. We provide data-driven lighting layout design, spectrum recommendations by crop type, and energy efficiency modelling to ensure your lighting investment pays off.

Do you offer remote or virtual consultations?

Yes. Most of our consultation work can be conducted remotely through video calls, document review, and data analysis. For larger or more complex engagements — especially those involving facility design or compliance audits — we also offer on-site visits across Canada and internationally.

What makes Crop Heaven different from other ag consultancies?

Most consultancies specialise in one area. We cover four disciplines — engineering, environment, horticulture, and postharvest — under one roof, with a team that holds PhDs and real industry experience. Our research background means we bring evidence-based solutions, not guesswork. And being based in Canada means we understand the specific regulatory, climate, and market realities you face.

How do I get started?

Simply send us an email at [email protected] with a brief description of your operation and what you’re looking to achieve. We’ll respond within 48 hours to arrange a free initial call. There’s no commitment required at that stage — just a conversation to see if we’re the right fit for your goals.
